Gel/PCR DNA Fragments Extraction KitsThe Gel/PCR DNA Fragments Extraction Kits from IBI Scientific are designed to recover or concentrate DNA fragments (50bp-10kb) from agarose gel, PCR reaction, or any other enzymatic reaction. This method uses a chaotropic salt and guanidine thiocyanate to dissolve the agarose gel and denature the enzymes. The DNA fragments in the chaotropic salt are bound to the glass-fiber matrix of the spin column. After washing off the contaminants, the purified DNA fragments are eluted by low salt elution buffer or water. Salts, enzymes, and unincorporated nucleotides can be effectively removed from the reaction mixture without phenol extraction or alcohol precipitation. Up to 10ug of DNA can be purified that is suitable for many downstream applications including PCR, restriction digest, ligation, and sequencing. |

High-Speed Plasmid Mini KitsThese High-Speed Plasmid Mini Kits from IBI Scientific are designed for the rapid isolation of plasmid DNA or cosmid DNA from 1-4ml of bacterial cultures. The modified alkaline lysis method and RNAse treatment are used to create cleared cell lysate with minimal genomic DNA and RNA contaminants. In the presence of chaotropic salt, the plasmid DNA in the lysate binds to the glass fiber matrix in the spin column. The purified plasmid DNA is eluted by a low salt elution buffer or water. This plasmid miniprep procedure does not require phenol-extraction or alcohol precipitation. Up to 30ug of purified plasmid DNA can be purified that is suitable for many downstream applications including PCR, restriction digest, ligation, and sequencing. |

Midi/Maxi Plasmid KitsMidi/Maxi Plasmid Kits from IBI Scientific use pre-packed ion-exchange resin columns to purify plasmid DNA or cosmid DNA from bacterial cultures. In this process, the modified alkaline lysis method and RNAse treatment are used for creating cleared cell lysate with minimal genomic DNA and RNA contaminants. Plasmid DNA is bound to the column, washed, and eluted with a high salt buffer. A final isopropanol precipitation results in ultra-pure plasmid DNA suitable for numerous downstream applications including PCR, transfection, restriction digest, ligation, and sequencing. A 96-Well vacuum manifold version is also available. |

Spin Doctor BAC Prep KitsGerard Biotech’s Spin Doctor BAC Prep Kits are optimized for BAC, cosmid, fosmid, YAC, PAC, and other large DNA constructs. The entirely liquid process results in large yields of very pure, low-copy DNA with minimal shearing compared to column based methods. The protocols are quick, simple to follow, and consistently give excellent yields of large construct DNA. |
